This is the story of an old Yorkshire Wolds farmer that he told to me over 40 years ago. It relates his feelings about the changeover from heavy horses (which he'd worked with since the age of 12) to a tractor. His favourite song was 'Jolly Fellows Who Follow the Plough' and the song starts with this.
